Friendship to the death: Halter loses battle with cancer and dog dies only 15 minutes later

Stuart Hutchison from Scotland was only 17 when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Operations and chemotherapy have accompanied him since then. But he is no better, the cancer continues to spread in his body. Now, at the age of 25, the young man has succumbed to his serious illness. Just 15 minutes later, his bulldog Nero also dies unexpectedly. It is a double trauma for the family. She mourns the loss of her husband and son as well as her beloved dog.

The family only discovered by accident that Nero is not doing well. Because Stuart wants to spend the last weeks of his life with his family, he and his wife Danielle move into his parents’ house. When Danielle’s glasses break one morning, her father offers to go to her own home and get her replacement glasses. So Danielle can stay with Stuart, who is getting worse and worse. When the father arrives at Stuart and Danielle’s apartment, he discovers that Nero is also doing badly. He’s taking the dog to the emergency room. The vets find out: Nero has a fracture in his spine. Nero dies of his serious injury only a short time after his friend and master take his last breath. The family is shaken, Nero has been fine up to then.

“Stuart died around 1:15 pm and Nero about 15 minutes later. He had three dogs, but he and Nero were just inseparable. Nero was always with him. Danielle (his wife), it was heartbreaking to have lost both of them” Stuart Hutchison’s mother Fiona told South West News Service.
